Our story is dance as a living expression of who we are as individuals and a community. It is a language understood by all. It captures joy, struggle, imagination, and connection.
Our stage is where these individual stories come to life. On that stage, our dancers show their growth. We create art that belongs to the performer and the audience.
Performance Schedule:
Saturday, June 6th – 6:00 PM start time *We are trying an earlier start time to better accommodate our younger dancers, so they are not getting home as late.
Sunday, June 7th – 2:00 PM start time
Arrival Time:All dancers must arrive 30 minutes before showtime and report to the balcony for attendance. Exception: Advanced Ballet and Ballet 6 dancers will arrive earlier to warm up with Kathy.
Recital Changes & Reminders:
All Level 1–2 dancers (ages 3–6) will perform in the first act of the recital. After performing, dancers will return to the balcony to sit with their class, House Manager, and assigned parent volunteer.
If your dancer is in multiple classes and requires a costume change, you may meet them in the back room off stage (not in the curtain area) to assist them. Please return them to their group usher to be walked to the balcony.
Saturday Only – Intermission: If you feel your dancer (ages 3-6) is too tired to stay for the full performance, you may take them home during intermission to rest and prepare for Sunday. One parent can get their dancer from the balcony during intermission.
Flower Presentations: If your dancer is selected to give flowers on Saturday (Senior Night) or Sunday (Instructor Appreciation Day), they must remain for the full performance. You will be notified on or before Ritz Week if this applies to your dancer.
Dress Rehearsal: Friday, June 5th at 4:30 PM
Arrival Time: 4:00 PM (report to the balcony, dressed and ready in first costume). Exception: Advanced Ballet and Ballet 6 dancers will arrive earlier to warm up with Kathy.
Expectations: Dancers should arrive on time and performance-ready. Lindsey will introduce herself and provide a brief overview of how the rehearsal will run. After your dancer has finished performing their routines, you may pick them up from the balcony and leave (dress rehearsal ONLY).
Behind The Scenes:
House Manager: Lindsey Stine will serve as our House Manager. She is very familiar with both the Ritz Theater and Dance Unlimited (as a former dancer, instructor, and current dance parent). Lindsey will be your go-to contact for any day-of-recital questions and will also assist with attendance.
Stage Manager: Ashley Edmond, a Dance Unlimited alumna, will be serving as our Stage Manager. She will oversee all backstage operations and coordinate with the music and lighting team to ensure a smooth and successful performance.
Parent Volunteers: Classes are split into 3 groups, and each group will have 3 parent volunteers:
Balcony: stays in the balcony with any dancers who are not on stage
Usher 1: walks dancers down to the stage and back after exiting the stage
Usher 2: walks dancers down to the stage and takes them backstage to meet their parents for a costume change and back to the balcony when they are ready
If you are interested in volunteering, sign up on the bulletin board at the studio. You must be available to stay for the entire performance. If you sign up for more than one volunteer date, please choose the same role each time to help things run smoothly. You will receive more information closer to Ritz week.
