June 2021 Ritz Theatre Performance

All rehearsals  on June 9, 10 and 11 will be held at the Ritz Theatre. The rehearsal schedule will be posted here on the website and in the dance studio.  No one may miss rehearsals.  No one may bring friends to the Ritz for rehearsal and there may be no food or drinks except water. Please read all this information carefully as some of the procedures are different this year due to the Pandemic.

Dates for the performance are Saturday, June 12th at 7:00 and Sunday, June 13th at 2:00.  All tickets are sold through the Ritz Box Office and will go on sale Monday, May 24, at 10:00 AM, since the box office is open from 10:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday. (Our Graduating Seniors may order tickets early starting May 20)  Prices for tickets are $15.00 and $7.00 for children age 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the box office or over the phone, but not on the website, so we can work out seating as tickets are bought.

Alex and Brady Doepker of Dead Shark Productions will again be videotaping the performance. Orders can be placed directly with them at the Ritz during the week of rehearsals.  The cost is $25.00 if ordered rehearsal week and $30.00 if ordered later.  Parents may videotape only at dress rehearsal.  No taping is permitted on the days of performance.

The class fees for May will include any June classes plus one class fee for the week of rehearsals in June.  June’s fee must be paid with May’s fees. For the classes meeting twice a week, June’s fees will be $25.00 for advanced ballet, and $20.00 for Ballet 5 and 6, and $15.00 for Ballet 4.

As we get ready for the performance it is very important that students attend all classes. This way they will be well-prepared for the performance. Students must attend all rehearsals at the Ritz .

Due to the changing guidelines for Covid safety,  we are re-working the ways we will do seating in the theater.  Please watch for remind messages from me as plans are pinned down.  At the performance this year, there will be no intermission, no concessions, and no flowers sold in the lobby as is usually done.

Procedures for this year’s performances 

Please arrive at the Ritz between 6:00 and 6:30 on Saturday night for a 7:00 performance.  Arrive on Sunday between 1:00 and 1:30 for a 2:00.show.  Make sure your child comes dressed in their first costume and bring the rest of their costumes to the dressing rooms behind the stage.  Don’t plan to put on your first costume at the Ritz – Do only your costume changes there.

When you buy your tickets be sure to get a free ticket for any of your children that are in group 1 or group 2 below.  Notice that you will need an adult to sit with your child for both performances for children in groups one and two.  The Box office will have the names of all the students so give the name and you will get a free ticket for your child to sit with you.

  Bring your child to the hallway by the stage where they usually come in .  Bring your child 20 minutes before the show time (6:40 on Saturday, 1:40 on Sunday.)  After your child performs their last song come up to the right of the stage at the bottom of the ramp and pick up your child to come to sit with you for the rest of the show.

 Group 2

  Group 2 should come to the Ritz dressed in their first costume.  They should all start out sitting with their parents.  After the ninth song in the show (after Jazz 2 and before Advanced Modern) they should all come to the hallway to the left of the stage and line up by class.  After they perform their last number they will go back to sit with their parents again.      

Group 3

All students in Advanced classes will use the National as their dressing room. They will be up there between their numbers  If any Advanced student is in only one dance and wants to sit in the audience, their parents can get them a free ticket when they buy theirs so the student can sit with their parents .

June 2021 Rehearsal Schedule

Please be on time for all rehearsals and do not be early or late.  Masks must be worn at all times at the Ritz except when you are performing on stage at the performance.  You must wear masks during all rehearsals. You must maintain social distancing as much as possible.  Any parents sitting in the audience must wear masks and keep 6 feet of social distancing. No food or drink is permitted at the Ritz except water. 

Dress Rehearsal will start at 4:00 on Friday, June 11. Please be prompt and come dressed in your first costume. Do not plan to put your first costume on at the Ritz. Just do your changes from one costume to another at the Ritz.
